


MEET THE MUSICIANS
TROMBONE MICHAEL LORMAND
A native of Rayne, Louisiana, Mike Lormand moved to New York City in 2001. As an orchestral musician, he is principal trombonist of the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Reading (PA) Symphony Orchestra. He also performs with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Delaware Symphony Orchestra, New York City Opera and Pennsylvania Ballet. His contemporary and chamber music experience includes performances with Alarm Will Sound, Ensemble Pamplemousse, Ikarus Chamber Players, Manhattan Brass, Manhattan Sinfonietta, and Pennsylvania Brass. As a soloist, Mike performed at the International Trombone Festival, the Eastern Trombone Workshop and with the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra. Commercially, he records music for television, film and video games and has also toured the U.S. and Europe with the musicals, Kiss Me, Kate! and Hair. Mike attended the University of Southern Mississippi and Manhattan School of Music and owes a large debt of gratitude to his teachers: Robert Schmalz, Marta Hofacre, Per Brevig and David Taylor.
